The novel Airdrive design paves the way for DAIWA’s future reel technology and offers smooth running and sensitivity you have never experienced before. Due to reduced weight of rotor, spool and bail, a softer rotation without starting resistance is enabled, which guarantees an optimally smooth running.

Airdrive Design and Lightweight Performance

The 22' Exist is the first reel within the DAIWA range equipped with the latest Airdrive concept. The reduction of the rotor’s weight ensures less effort for starting, faster stopping and quicker responses to different retrieving situations.

Wall thickness and unnecessary weight within the Airdrive spool have been reduced – in combination with the lighter rotor and bail, this improves reel balance and enables better lure control.

Airdrive Shaft and Smooth Operation

In contrast to common spinning reels, DAIWA developed a Low-Contact structure between axis and pinion gear – the Airdrive Shaft. This technology reduces friction and optimizes the super soft and silent running.

The Airdrive concept combines these elements to enable the construction of extremely lightweight and sensitive spinning reels.

Advanced Airdrive Bail

The Airdrive bail is the next evolutionary step within bail design and integrates perfectly with the Airdrive concept. DAIWA constructed a slimmer yet durable bail that further reduces weight at the reel’s front. Compared to the 18' Exist, the weight of the latest Airdrive bail is reduced by 33%.

Twist Buster III Technology

The Twist Buster technology reduces the threat of line tangling and twist. For the 22' Exist, the well-known Twist Buster II has been improved to the Twist Buster III construction. The new design reduces compression of the line during retrieving, resulting in significantly less twist.
