The 10000 size Aerlex XTB (black) and XSB (silver) offers exceptional value for anglers wanting a large sized reel with long range casting potential, for either carp or surf fishing. Although not as sophisticated as the more expensive long range Shimano reels, the Aerlex is an admirable all round performer.

Whilst not quite as large as the 14000 sized specialist long range reels, the 10000 size of the Aerlex is certainly large enough to be classed as a long range reel. This is reinforced by the inclusion of Aero Wrap line lay and an AR-C spool, both of which help increase casting performance. In use the XTB and XSB versions have a powerful 4.6:1 gear ratio, which retrieves 100cm of line per handle turn.
With a smaller 10000 sized spool, choice of cosmetics (XTB/XSB) and the performance Shimano are synonymous with, this reel certainly knows how to stand out from the crowd.
